Naturally, it also created some problems bigger than the ones it fixed. The chief issue seems to be the app icon disappearing.Pokémon GO App Icon Disappearing - How To Fix It

How to Fix Pokemon Go Disappearing Icon

After the 0.43.3 for Android and 1.13.3 for iOS update, many Pokémon GO trainers began to notice the app icon going missing from the home screen. The glitch affects both Android and iOS users. The problem seems to happen from time to time, and it apparently doesn’t affect all players. Those who are having issues have resorted to opening the app through the app store. Luckily, there’s a much simpler solution to the problem.

Just restart your phone, or add the icon back. Fortunately, this bug is just a hassle and is that easy to fix, like most Niantic glitches. They’ll probably fix this quickly, but until then, it’s good to know how to get around it. So, either restart your phone or re-add the app from the store and you should be good to go.

What Pokemon Go Update Fixed

Since it caused such a mess, it’s only fair to mention what the update actually made better.
  • Pokémon Eggs now have different patterns depending on how far you need to walk to hatch them. The 2 km ones are still green, the 5 km ones are yellow, and the 10 km ones are purple. This will make it much easier to pick out the egg you want at a glance.
  • Every Pokémon now has a type icon added to the information screen. This will come in very handy for building a team when preparing for a gym takeover.
  • Pokemon GO Plus now has a low battery indicator.
  • Some minor issues with text have been fixed.
Hopefully, this will help get rid of any headaches the new update caused you. We all look forward to the day when a Pokémon GO update doesn’t cause even more issues.

For all who can’t find pokemon go or any other apps. You are likely to find it in the game launcher app aka ‘library’

    1. Hi, Brian!

If restarting the phone didn’t help, try to drag the icon back to the home screen from your app list.

Hi, for me, the restart didn’t work and it no longer appears in my apps list either to drag over the icon. However, Play store says it is installed. Any suggestions?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve noticed it with a few of my apps too. I have a galaxy s7, idk if its an issue with that or if its the apps.

Pull ur apps tab up and search pokemon go itll be in your games file. Open game launcher hold fingeron the app till it gives option to select, once selected hit remove from game launcher after that itll be back on apps page and can be put back on home screen

Dragging the icon back to the home screen only works if the icon can be found. I do a search, and it isn’t there, although the
        play store says it is.

    1. Hi, My name (I see what you did there)

If the restart didn’t work, try dragging the app icon from your app list back to the home screen.

The restart doesn’t work. I can’t add it, because it can’t be found on my phone! However, when I went to download it again from the play store, it says it’s already there. The problem is that it ISN’T.
      This is extremely frustrating.
