How to Trade in Pokemon BDSP

As we mentioned, there are two ways to trade in Pokemon BDSP. The first of these is local trading. To do this, you will need to have access to the Local Room, which is a part of the Union Room. You can access the Union Room by going to a Pokemon Center and heading upstairs. Once there, talk to the nurse. After you have received your 1st badge in Oreburgh City, you can then go into the basement of the Pokemon Center. When you go there, you will unlock trading from wherever you are. You can now access the Union Room, and the Local Room through it, at any time in the world (except when you are inside buildings and caves) by pressing the Y button. Inside the Local Room, you will meet players that want to trade with you. To trade, approach a player and talk with them.

How to Trade Online in Pokemon BDSP

Now, as for online trading, it functions very similarly to local trading, with only a couple of key differences. Online trading is done through the Global Room, which is also accessed through the Union Room. Likewise, you can also access it at any time by pressing Y once you have gotten your 1st badge in Oreburgh City and paid a visit to the Pokemon Center’s basement. However, to be able to unlock online trading, you will need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Without this, you won’t be able to access the Global Room and to then trade with other online Pokemon BDSP players around the world.
