Nioh Tachibana Muneshige Sub Mission Boss Fight

Tachibana Muneshige is one of the bosses in Nioh. You’ll first encounter him during a main mission, where you should have no trouble defeating him. Your second encounter might not be so easy. You’ll get to duel him during a sub mission called Invitation from the Warrior of the West. Suddenly, he’s a completely different beast. He’s relentless, his attacks powerful and seemingly unstoppable. There’s a catch, however. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to beat Tachibana Muneshige in a duel in Nioh.

The trick is not to take him head on, but to tire him out. He has a Ki bar of his own, and it can be depleted. Once it does, he’s an easy mark. Don’t try blocking him – just dodge his attacks, and try to punish the ones with long recovery times. If you’re comfortable with spears, this is a great situation to use them. The heavy attack in the middle stance drains a considerable amount of the opponent’s Ki, and you can allow yourself to keep some distance.

Once you’ve managed to bring down his Ki enough, you’ll knock him down. Don’t spam attacks – just approach him and perform a ground attack. This will take out a sizeable chunk of his health. Do this a few times and the fight will be over before you know it. Just be patient and careful – don’t get greedy, don’t try to block and try not to misjudge his reach. He has a bow, so you shouldn’t keep too far away, or he’ll try to shoot you. The arrows aren’t too hard to dodge, but they waste a lot less Ki than his sword attacks. If you get to the point where he applies a lightning buff to his weapon, you can kite him around a large rock until the buff expires.
