Nioh Story Trailer

Nioh has gotten a new story trailer in Japanese. It explains some interesting story elements of the game, and there is no actual gameplay. It is presented as a some sort of cartoon, with a narrator talking about the story segments. The story’s main protagonist is William Adams. He was a sailor, and he eventually became a samurai. The trailer also shows some enemies and monsters that we will be fighting in the game, as well as some characters that are tied to the main story.Check out the trailer below:

As you play, you will be able to choose between multiple combat styles, while managing you stamina bar which is used for performing attacks, dodging and running. Managing your stamina is very important in Nioh; as we saw in the Demo, if you run out of stamina in a combat situation, you are very vulnerable to enemy attacks.

There are a lot of weapons and armors you can use that suit your style of gameplay. There are katanas, spears, axes, hammers, bows, guns and cannons for you to choose from. As suspected, you can equip different kinds of light and heavy armor types that provide protection and different kinds of bonuses.

At first glance, Nioh looks and plays very similar to Dark Souls games, just in a medieval Japan style. I couldn’t help but notice that the main protagonist looks very similar to Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher games. If we could see a combination of Dark souls and Witcher games in Nioh, that would probably be a masterpiece, but I honestly doubt that will happen.

Nioh will be released on the 7th of February in North America and on the 8th of February 2017 in Europe. Let us know in the comment section below: Are you excited for Nioh’s release and do you find Nioh’s story interesting?
