The Tangled Message in Nier Replicant

Nier Replicant The Tangled Message is a side quest that you can complete in the game, and it requires you to relay messages to various NPCs around Facade. The quest starts off fairly easy, since the hints are fairly clear. However, later on, it gets much more difficult. You have to rely on your intimate knowledge of the desert city, plus memorize the messages. It’s all a bit annoying. That’s why we’ve put together our The Tangled Message in Nier Replicant guide to help you out.

How to Complete Nier Replicant Tangled Message Quest

To complete the Tangled Message quest in Nier Replicant, after you talk about it with Devola in your village, head straight to the desert city of Facade. To accept the quest, you have to talk to the masked soldier standing in the very center of the city. They’ll tell you that the first message is for the person standing to the left of the exit, and you should say “The Masked People respect their rules.” So, head all the way back west and do just that.

Your next target is the man who protects the king’s left, and the message is “The Men of the Mask work for the king.” So, head over to the entrance into the king’s mansion, and talk to the guard on the left. They’ll tell you to go to the person taking care of the children, and tell them “Child care can be difficult.” This person is slightly north from the city center (location in the screenshots below).

Our next step in The Tangled Message in Nier Replicant is the southeastern guard, and the message is “Only nobility may enter the treasury.” Said guard is not in the southeast corner of the city, but in the corner of the inner walls (check the screenshot to see where exactly to go). Our last target is the long-winded person, and the message is simply “Quicksand.” This person is just a rando in the northwest of the city, just follow the screenshot to see where they are. After you get the final message, you’ll go back to the first guard and get your 10000 Gold reward.
