Rainbow Trout Fishing Location & Bait - Fisherman's Gambit Part 3 Nier Replicant
The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 3 quest in Nier Replicant requires you to catch a rainbow trout. That sounds simple enough, but the game doesn’t tell you where you can find the Nier Replicant rainbow trout. We only managed to grab it in one location, which is pretty tricky to find in the first place. Even if you do manage that, actually catching the trout is a whole different can of worms, pun intended. So, to help you out, here’s our Rainbow Trout Fishing Location & Bait – Fisherman’s Gambit Part 3 Nier Replicant guide.
Nier Replicant Rainbow Trout Fishing Location & Bait
The fishing location for rainbow trout in Nier Replicant is in the center of the Northern Plains area. There’s a large lake there, and you need to find a small dock that has a boat tied to it. If you don’t know where exactly you need to go, check out the screenshots below. Once you’re there, hop into the boat, and the game will let you fish from it. That’s not to say that you’ll immediately catch the trout, but more about that in a minute. As for the bait, the regular cheap earthworms that you can get from the village for 10 gold a pop will do just fine. Now for the difficult part – actually catching the fish we’re after.
How to Catch Rainbow Trout in Nier Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 3 Quest
To catch the Nier Replicant rainbow trout in for the Fisherman’s Gambit Part 3 quest, hop into the boat we talked about above and cast your line (B on the Xbox controller). Now, of course, you’re waiting for the float to go down; that’s how you know that somethings biting. You’ll know that it’s the rainbow trout if it tugs a little bit twice, and then real hard once.
As soon as it does the strong tug, pull the left analog stick towards you and counter to the direction that the fish is pulling in. Pay attention to the fish’s health bar; if it starts falling, you’re doing a good job. There’s a sweet spot that you can pull in that makes the life fall real bad; use these easier fish to practice finding that spot, since it’ll only get harder from here. Take a look at the diagram below if you want a visual.
You might catch a bunch of garbage fish in the process, but you’ll get the trout eventually; don’t lose hope. Once you complete the third part of Fisherman’s Gambit, you’ll unlock part 4, and your fishing skill will improve. This is important, because you need to catch one of each type of fish for one of the achievements / trophies. Good luck!
