Viva la Dirt League Creating a Video Game of Their Own Together With TEAM17 and Fusionplay
Viva la Dirt League has been making us laugh on YouTube for years with their sketch comedy videos that make fun of video game tropes. Famous for their Epic NPC and PUBG live action series they have partnered with Team17 as publisher and FusionPlay as game developers to turn those parody sketches about video games into an actual video game. I’ve always wondered what would it be like to have things from their videos happen in a real game. Self aware NPCs facing the absurdity of video game logic. Feels like a treat.
There are not many details about the genre or the style of the game being developed. This also means that we’ll have to wait for quite some time to actually play it. Still, fans of Viva la Dirt League as well as gamers that know Team17 is well known for releasing good games have something good to look forward to, even if it’s early days. Viva La Dirt League had this to say:
We are beyond thrilled to be partnering with the incredible teams at Fusion Play and Team17! This dream collaboration brings our fictional world to life in a whole new way. Get ready for Epic NPC Man’s epic debut in the REAL gaming universe – we can’t wait to share it with you!
As soon as we find out more about the genre and the mechanics we can expect to see in the game we’ll let you know. I’m imagining a World of Warcraft style RPG where you play as the NPC tending to spoiled players with the story taking you to TechTown in a horror twist :). Check out Viva la Dirt League on YouTube if you haven’t seen them before and I’m sure you’ll understand why I’m excited about this.
