The Good Life is an RPG by Swery about people who turn into cats overnight
If you have yet to hear about Swery, you are in for a treat. This Japanese game designer, famous for his Deadly Premonition and Dark Dreams Don’t Die, has promised a few months back that his new game will be “perverted, violent and crazy”. Today he has come out stating that the his new game is an RPG about a small town in England where everyone turns into cats over night. Because why not?
The announcement says that the game is set in Rainy Woods, “the self-proclaimed ‘happiest town in the world’. Here, you’ll play as Naomi, a photographer from New York who finds herself stuck in this small town in rural England. She’s found a way to pay off the massive debt she’s accumulated, but she soon discovers that the town is hiding a very bizarre secret…”
Once the cat is out of the bag, you find out that everyone starts saying “mrkrgnao” all night long and this includes our protagonist, Naomi. Swery says that the game is based “on the framework of a ‘daily life RPG'”, and he hopes to see the weird combination of “the happiest town in the world” and a very bizarre inhabitants of the same would pull on our heart strings in a way that will “inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition”. This just might be the thing Swery fans have been waiting for a long time.
Swery’s team, White Owl, is aiming to crowdfund the game via a Fig campaign. For those who have missed the info on this platform, it allows for a mixed model of individual backing and investment which allow you to obtain future revenues for successful projects. The campaign launches on September 3, 2017, but you can already sign up for notification.
