The new console generation is right around the bend (when it comes to Sony and Microsoft, that is). With it comes a new generation of peripherals which will help you get the most out of your new machines. Well, as you might have predicted, Steelseries is going to join the fun with updated versions of their Arctis 7 wireless gaming headsets. Steelseries Announces Arctis 7 Headphones for New Consoles

The new Steelseries headsets are called Arctis 7X and Arctis 7P, tailored for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, respectively. Both versions feature the Steelseries 2,4GHz USB-C, offering low latency and clear audio, according to the press release. The one thing we do have to mention is that the Arctis 7P has a somewhat smaller USB-C, making it incompatible with the new Xbox consoles. They should, however, still work fine with other platforms. In short, the Arctis 7X is compatible with everything, so that might be the one you ultimately want to go with.

Oh, lest I forget, the 7X also works with Xbox One and PS4, while the 7P will only work with the PlayStation 4. Also, they feature a battery that lasts up to 24 hours, so odds are good that they won’t die on you in the middle of a prolonged session. On top of that, like all headsets from this series, they have a ClearCast microphone with a built-in mute button and a volume control with the ChatMix system.

So, yeah, there you have it. If you’re planning to get yourself a new headset to go along with your Xbox Series X or S or PlayStation 5, might as well go with Steelseries. It seems like a pretty decent get for the money. That decision is, of course, ultimately up to you.
