The game has been delayed twice, having first been announced for December 2016, and then first quarter of 2017. Coon and Friends are back.

The story in the sequel revolves around the crime wave in South Park, where “havoc and chaos unleash a reign of terror and the seedy underbelly of the city comes alive”. It would appear that the Coon & Friends are needed once more. The players will once again be the New Kid, ready to “discover their backstory, assemble their unique costumes, and harness their fart-based powers from numerous hero classes”. There is supposed to be an “all-new” combat system and a “revamped” looting and crafting system as well, allowing players to craft equipment they might need in battle.

What would a piece of news about release dates be without the listing of various editions. This time there are four: Standard, Gold (including the game, season pass, a steelbook case Steelbook Gold (including the game, season pass, a steelbook case, postcards and in-game costume perks) and Collector’s (including a six inch figure of the Coon). Apart from your free copy of The Stick of Truth, pre-orders will also receive Towelie: Your Gaming Bud, as an exclusive in-game assistant. He should provide some useful advice at key locations. More like walking on sunshine on key locations, amirite!

There is a special edition featuring a remote controlled Coonmobile, for those who want to go with full Coon craziness, and it is a mere $190. After all, every town needs a hero. Every town needs…a Coon.
