Sony’s E3 conference overview
Once again, Sony went for “games over anything else” for their conference, showing off a huge number of games one after another. There were, however, few surprises, and the show was pretty much by the numbers.
Probably the biggest surprise was the idea of Shadow of Colossus getting (another) remaster. It does look brilliant, though, as you can see from the trailer above. The colossi look even greater, if that is possible, now that you can see them in real high definition.
Days Gone showed off a chunk of its gameplay, with emphasis on using their trademark zombie hordes to deal with obstacles in your way. Oh, and they had a huge, mean, barb-wire covered zombie bear, so there’s that.
God of War was also back for another year of “best dad of the North”. Seems like Kratos will be taking the fight to all the Norse gods, and he seems to be on good terms with the World Snake. Good on him!
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy received another trailer, but it is nothing we haven’t seen already, which goes for most of the games. Sony put an effort to showcase the VR games as well, including Skyrim VR and the weird little VR fishing mini-game for FFXV. When talking about VR, there is also The Inpatient, a psychological thriller set in an asylum (original, no?), and Moss, a sword-wielding mouse game. These tend to be cute.
To top it off, there is the new Spiderman game, which is a PS4 exclusive. The gameplay seems quite similar to that of the Arkham games, but that was to be expected. Still, Spidey has some original moves up his sleeve, so no worries there.
Most of the games shown are actually slated for 2018, so it seems we are in for another great year. You can expect a breakdown of most of the game trailers from us, so stay tuned!
