Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PS4 and Xbox One
Dragon Dogma is an action RPG by Capcom that first came out in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version did not come out until January last year. As Capcom has been lately working on getting their games to all possible platforms, it was expected to see Dragon’s Dogma appear on PS4 and Xbox One.
The game originally received great reviews, holding a 78 and 75 Metacritic score on PS3 and X360, respectively. It was mostly praised for taking risks and mixing things up where other RPGs did not stray much from the paths set by their predecessors. The game sold very well and the Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen version came out in 2013 with all the accompanying DLCs included. This same version came out in 2016 on PC and became Capcom’s fastest selling PC game to date.
Initially, the PS4 and Xbox One versions were announced only in Japan, however, today, Capcom UK posted the same news. The confirmation is that Dark Arisen is coming to PS4 and Xbox one this fall. It will be interesting to see how the game changed in the remaster, having in mind that it has been five years since its initial launch, on the previous generation of consoles. The PC version from last year did suffer a bit from graphics not really being up to today’s standards.
Dragon’s Dogma Online also came out, however, only in Japan, bringing the world to a more MMORPG setting, which still allows you to play it solo, and it is free. The game has no official English version, but this did not stop people, of course, and there is a dedicated community on Reddit translating each new update’s most important moments. There is no word from Capcom on whether this version of the game will be coming to the West.
