Path of Exile Fall of Oriath Expansion Release Date Revealed
Grinding Gear Games have released a new trailer for Path of Exile’s upcoming expansion, Fall of Oriath. It’s a proper video, with a bunch of new stuff to show off, but the most important one is the release date. We now know the DLC is going to be relased on August 4th on PC, while Xbox One player will have to wait a bit longer.
If you can’t wait for the release proper, you can try to get into the beta. The official site will allow you to sign up for an invite – they’re being sent out in waves, so you might get one at some point in the next two weeks. If you’re really impatient, you can buy the supporter pack and get instant access to the beta. The cheapest option costs $30, and doesn’t get you much apart from an invite. You can spend up to $500, though, on various packs with different cosmetic goodies.
As for the expansion itself, it’s going to tell a story across six acts. It starts with the death of Dominus, ruler of Oriath. This prompts the slaves to rise up against the Templars, but they kind of go overboard, commiting genocide in the process. Then there’s a bit about confronting gods and taking their powers, the sun and moon battling it out on a really large bridge, and more. It’s a lot of stuff.
The DLC will introduce the Pantheon system, which will allow you to use the powers of the gods for more buffs. You can only have one active at a time, but you can swap them out in towns. Aside from that, it’ll add new skill gems and unique items, as well as some improvements under the hood, like a new water renderer and better performance.
