Overwatch Season 4 End Date, Rewards Announced

In a recent post on the official forums, Blizzard have announced the end date of the fourth season of competitive Overwatch. It was a good couple of months, but now it’s time to put them behind us and go onto new victories. The fifth season will be starting shortly after the current one ends. They’ve also revealed some info about the rewards competitive players will be getting once the season is over.

Season 4 will officialy end on May 29th, 00:00 UTC. That’s 5PM PDT the day before, or 8PM EDT. If you’re a competitive player, you’ll be able to give yourself some time off following that, as the next season will begin three days later, on June 1st 00:00 UTC.

Players who’ve completed their placement in this season will receive a spray and an icon as rewards. It’s not much, but neither is completing the placements. All you have to do in order to get them is log into the game once the season is completed. Players who’ve managed to get into the top 500 in their region (and on their platform) will get another spray and icon on top of the first pair.

Of course, there’s the matter of competitive points to consider, too. You can use them as a kind of rare currency, which allows you to buy golden skins for weapons. Here’s how much points each skill rank will receive:

  • SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 100 CP
  • SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 200 CP
  • SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 400 CP
  • SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 800 CP
  • SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 1200 CP
  • SR 3500-3999 (Master): 2000 CP
  • SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 3000 CP

Keep in mind there’s a soft cap at six thousand competitive points, which stops you from receiving more once you’ve reached it. Get your golden weapons and don’t let CP go to waste. And that’s it for Season 4. See you on the other side (not if you see us first).
