NBK CS:GO Star Moves to Valorant
The CS:GO will soon be one bright star shorter. Nathan Schmitt, known better as NBK- or the French Kingmaker, is making a move to greener pastures, and by greener pastures, I of course mean Valorant. NBK has announced his move to Valorant via Twitter, featuring a video of his CS:GO career highlights, his symbolic entrance into the new game, and what seems to be the G2 Esports logo.
NBK- Leaves CS:GO for Valorant
NBK is certainly not the first CS:GO player to make the move to Valorant; Spencer “Hiko” Martin did the same just last year. However, no shade to Hiko, but NBK is arguably the biggest get for the other side so far. The guy has won multiple Majors and has been rated as one of the top 20 players by HLTV in three different years. Schmitt has got quite the list of accomplishments, and his transfer to Valorant is sure to turn heads.
To announce his exit from CS:GO, NBK posted a short video on Twitter, in which we see a highlight reel of his career so far. His voiceover states: “I have done it all. From local LANs to winning Majors, grinded through the ranks, and sat on top of the world… I lived the big disappointments and the best tournament wins. Counter-Strike gave me everything and I dedicated my life to it. But memories are made to stay in the past. It’s time for a change…and I’m coming to dominate.”
The video then goes on to show a digital NBK entering Valorant, and all in all, the whole thing does a good job of being both a goodbye to the past and a hello to the future. What’s interesting to note is that, while Schmitt hasn’t announced which team he’ll be joining yet, there seem to be some hints that he’s chosen G2 Esports, based on the samurai image that appears in the latter half of the video. That’s just conjecture on my part, though; we’ll have to wait and see.
