Mortal Kombat 11 Free Weekend Announced for October 11-14

Now, what can one expect from the free weekend? Which bits of content will you have access to? Well, for one, you’ll have full access to all multiplayer modes. Fair enough. One assumes you’ll also have access to all other modes, as well. However, there will be certain limitations. For example, when it comes to the Story Mode, you’ll only be able to play the first two chapters. Which I understand; the free weekend is supposed to entice you to buy the game, after all, so they have to leave something out.

On top of that, you’ll also have access to the full roster of characters, along with all the Fatalities. Well, that’s what the trailer promises, but it’s not entirely correct. You will have access to all playable characters, but some characters will have limitations, which will apply to Shang Tsung, The Terminator, and Nightwolf. These guys are only gonna be available in the Towers of Time. So, yeah; some content will be gated off, but there’s more than enough to give you a proper taste of MK11.

Oh, and along with the free weekend, Warner Bros are also putting Mortal Kombat 11 on sale. You can save 40% if you purchase the game while the promotion lasts. Confusingly, though, the sale will take place over different periods, depending on your platform. On Xbox, it’s from October 11th to October 20th. On PlayStation, it’ll be from October 8th to November 1st. Lastly, on the Nintendo store, it’ll last form October 15th to October 21st.
