Mortal Kombat 11 Gets First Sneak Peek at Sindel

Ed Boon has provided a sneak peek at Sindel to Mortal Kombat 11 players via Twitter. The image shows Sindel emerging from the darkness, still very much under the spell of Quan Chi. She is a DLC character, meaning you’ll have to either buy her separately, or purchase the Kombat Pack to get all the extra fighters.

Mortal Kombat 11 Gets First Sneak Peek at Sindel

About the month ago, Netherrealm Studios announced several DLC characters in the Shang Tsung trailer. One of said characters was Sindel, one of the mainstays of the series since Mortal Kombat 3. However, the trailer didn’t show anything about the DLC fighters; no visuals, no release dates, nothing. Well, that has now changed, thanks to a tweet from Ed Boon, the creator of the franchise. He gave us the first look at Sindel in MK11, with the caption “seven deadly Sindels.” A reference to the seven deadly sins, or is he saying that the zombie queen of Edenia will be coming out in a week? We’ll have to wait and see.

I’ve never exactly been good with Sindel, but it’s great to see her again. In Mortal Kombat X, they relegated her to a side character that didn’t really do much, other than be under Quan Chi’s spell. Shame, really, because she’s a complex and important character. So, I’m happy to see her back properly, as a playable fighter. Sure, a lot of people are still gonna be demanding Meleena, but come on people, she’s dead in this timeline, it’s not like characters in Mortal Kombat just come back to life out of nowhere (end sarcasm).

Sindel, like Shang Tsung, is going to be a part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack, which costs $40 and includes Shang Tsung, Sindel, Nightwolf, Spawn, and two more characters that are yet to be announced. Or, you’ll be able to purchase her separately; probably for $6, which is how much Shang Tsung cost.
