Metal Gear Survive Developers Leave Hidden Message About Kojima

Somebody from the development team of Metal Gear Survive appears to have had enough with Konami. Or, at the very least, is on Team Kojima when it comes to his firing from Konami. Whatever the case may be, it seems that there’s an Easter egg in Metal Gear Survive, saying KJP FOREVER, and even calling out the director and producer.

It would seem that Konami has some disgruntled employees. Shocking, I know. And, it would seem that some of them have been working on Metal Gear Survive. They were probably miffed by something during the development process, and decided to not only give a shoutout to Hideo Kojima, but also take potshots at the people in charge. Sure, it may be a bit of a stretch, but I can’t help myself; I really want this to be true.

So, as you can see in the picture above, just after you create your character in Metal Gear Survive, you see a clipboard with your name and the names of other fellow soldiers. It’s a fun little detail, kinda showing why you’re the “only one” for the mission. But then, eagle-eyed players noticed something on the board. Starting with the fourth name on the list, Hungry Komododragon, down to Panzer Rat, the first letters of the second names read KJP FOREVER. Could this be a direct stab at Konami, saying Kojima Productions Forever? I really do hope so.

That’s not where it ends. The last two names on the list are Bastard Yota and Cunning Yuji, both marked as AWOL (aka, deserters). There’s no way that this is not referencing Yota Tsutsumizaki and Yuji Korekado, the director and producer of Metal Gear Survive, respectively. Now, that could just be a friendly jab at the people in charge. However, taking into account the usual state of affairs in Konami, and the possible shoutout to Kojima, I doubt that it’s just loving banter. All in all, it’s pretty amazing, and I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.
