Little Nightmares First DLC Expansion Chapter 'The Depths' Coming Out
Little Nightmares is getting the first chapter of its expansion, “Secrets of the Maw”. The name of the chapter is “The Depths”, and it’s the beginning of the adventures of the Runaway Kid, another child trying to escape the horrors of the Maw. “The Depths” is coming out today, July 7th, and it’s a part of the Little Nightmares expansion pass, which you can get either separately or by purchasing the Complete Edition.
Today, the first chapter of the Little Nightmares expansion is out. “Secrets of the Maw”, as the expansion is called, puts us in the boots of the Runaway Kid, who attempts to exit The Maw with several different kids. However, he gets separated from the group, and has to fend for himself. The name of the first chapter is “The Depths”, which introduces us to the Runaway Kid’s plight, but there’s a lot more to come, as the developer’s Steam community post points out:
On his journey, The Kid will visit unseen areas of the Maw in 3 different chapters: The Depths, The Hideway and a last secret location offering a different perspective on Six’s adventures as well as new challenges to overcome.
That last bit is especially interesting. If that “secret location” will indeed give us more information about Six, then that makes one wonder: Just how are the misadventures of Six and The Kid connected? Is “Secrets of the Maw” a prequel? A sequel? Do they happen simultaneously? Well, you’ll have to play to find out, and here’s a hint of what’s waiting for you:
In The Depths, the story begins as some other kids lead an escape, but the Kid drops down into the Depths of the Maw. Little does he know that this murky place is home to The Granny – a creature abandoned to decay that will let no-one go. He must struggle on if he wants to survive, leap from floating debris to avoid being pulled into the treacherous waters, and find a way to create a path through the depths.
The “Secrets of the Maw” expansion is available for purchase on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can either get it as a part of the Little Nightmares Complete Edition, or purchase it separately for $9.99.
