If you have pre-ordered Voyage to the Sunken City bundle, you can open those packs before the newest Hearthstone expansion officially releases. Hearthstone Fireside Gathering pre-release weekend will allow any interested players to open their packs in advance and check all the cards prior to the release. This is great not only because you don’t need to wait for the official release, but also because you will avoid the laggy servers that plague the game on each expansion launch. Here’s how to create Hearthstone Fireside Gathering and open the Sunken City packs during the pre-release weekend.

Hearthstone Fireside Gathering pre-release weekend

In order to open the Sunken City packs early, you will need to create a Hearthstone Fireside Gathering event. More specifically, you will need to create one during the pre-release weekend. Traditionally, Blizzard is arranging a special pre-release weekend, for those players who have pre-ordered expansion bundles. Two years ago, these were in-person events. Local Hearthstone communities would gather and players would meet other Hearthstone players from their cities.

But, over the last two years, since the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, public Fireside Gathering events are disabled. Nonetheless, Blizzard still allows players to create private Fireside Gatherings. By creating private Fireside Gatherings, you will be able to open your Sunken City packs early during the pre-release weekend.

Voyage to the Sunken City Pre-Release Fireside Gatherings Schedule

The pre-release Fireside Gathering weekend will take place the weekend before Voyage to the Sunken City releases. Here’s the exact date and time:

• Start date: April 8th at 10 am PT/ 1 pm ET / 7 pm CET
• End date: April 11th at 10 am PT/ 1 pm ET / 7 pm CET

How To Create a Private Pre-Release Hearthstone Fireside Gathering

If you want to open your Voyage to the Sunken City packs during the pre-release event, first you must create your own pre-release Fireside Gathering. Doing this is rather easy, just follow these few steps:

• Head to Fireside Gathering’s “Create an event” page
• Log in with your Battle.net account (the one you play Hearthstone with)
• Name your event however you want
• Set your “Start date & time” so that it occurs during the pre-release weekend
• Set any duration you want, but know that you can only open packs during that period
• Click on the purple “Create Unlisted Event” button

And that’s it! If you have set up everything correctly, you will be able to open your packs once your private Fireside Gathering starts. When the pre-release weekend kicks off, your private pre-release Fireside Gathering will start automatically once you start Hearthstone for the first time.
