Developers Ninja Theory have released a new trailer for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The video is a mostly cinematic trailer, showing you bits and pieces from the game and hinting at the story. The second half of the video is a message from the developers with some behind-the-scenes footage. Hellblade also got a release date – August 8th.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is the new project by Ninja Theory of DMC: Devil May Cry. It’s a hack-and-slash games based on both Norse and Celtic mythology. In the game, players will take on the roll of Senua, on a personal journey through her psychosis and the mixture of reality and hallucinations. The focus is mainly on building characters and a dark, twisted, apocalyptic world.
The game got a new cinematic trailer, called Ragnarok. During the first half, we get several awesome-looking visuals and story hints. It seems that Hellblade is further blurring the line between fantasy and reality, and that perhaps Senua actually has something to do with the upcoming end of the world. We get to see some enormous godlike enemy creature, as well as what I assume is Yggdrasil in flames. Either way, it’ll probably be enough to peak the interest of a lot of people. You can check it out below.
The second part of the video is a message from Team Ninja’s Dominic Matthews, showing of some behind-the-scenes footage, including mo-cap and the like. The developers are making Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice as a mid-size indie game that’s of triple-A quality. More importantly, since the game is half as large compared to major open-world game, they plan to sell it at half the price. They’re urging fans to preorder the game, so that they could get the buzz going and help the game succeed.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is coming out on August 8th, 2017. It’s coming out on PC and PlayStation 4.
