GOG.com Winter Sale Takes Off, Offers Grim Fandango for Free

Just as our wallets started to feel a bit better after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GOG.com decides to launch their Winter Sale. It’ll hang around until December 26th, which should more than tide you over until the Steam sale. According to the GOG.com website, there’s over 900 deals, some of them going as high as 90% off, with “new games daily”. As an opener, you can pick up Grim Fandango Remastered for free until Thursday, December 14th.

The sale also has a Star system. One star costs about $3, or whatever your local equivalent may be. Each star gets you a mystery game, which can have a base price from anywhere between $5.99 and $44.99. So, it’s a bit of a gamble. However, at least you’re guaranteed to get something technically worth more than what you paid for. Don’t get carried away hunting that best value through Stars, though.

As for the games that are on sale, there’s quite a bit to choose from. There’s The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition for $19.99, Cuphead for $16.99, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for 22.49, Stardew Valley for $9.99, What Remains of Edith Finch for $15.99, Torment: Tides of Numenera for $22.49, A Hat in Time for $14.99, and much, much more. Additionally, if you spend over $15, you’ll also get Hard West for free. Spend over $40, and you’ll also unlock Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars. So, if you’re just itching to spend some money on games this holiday season, head over to GOG.com and see what they have to offer.
