Evil Dead Game Not Working on PS5, Online Service Unavailable
Evil Dead: The Game developer Saber Interactive wanted to surprise fans with a new release time. Alas, instead of playing the game much earlier, players on all platforms started experiencing issues. A number of players are unable to play the game on the PlayStation 5 at the moment. If you are among them, you are probably receiving the “The online service is unavailable” message. Here’s what we know about the issue and why is Evil Dead The Game not working on the PS5.
Evil Dead The Game Not Working on PS5, The Online Service is Unavailable
UPDATE: On Friday, March 3rd, 2023, players are reporting issues with the Evil Dead game. According to downdetector, Play Station Servers are currently down. We will update the article when we have more information available.
Evil Dead: The Game was released at midnight, local time, on May 13th across the globe. This was a change from the previously planned release time, which was 4 pm CET / 3 pm BST / 10 am ET / 9 am PT. This was surely a welcome surprise for gamers who wanted to jump right into the action. Unfortunately, the sudden change resulted in a series of unexpected issues as well.
When it comes to PlayStation, it seems that many players who own the game on the PS5 are currently unable to play the game. When they try to log in, they receive the following message: “The online service unavailable. Please check your internet connection and try again later.”
Apparently, the issue doesn’t appear for all PS5 owners, as some players report that they are able to play the game while others can. “I’m game sharing with my brother and he can log on instantly,” wrote u/SickySlendy. “I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded it my internet speed is 218MB per second so the message about not being able to connect seems a bit off, any known fixes would be appreciated.”
Saber Interactive has acknowledged the issue. The official Saber Support account stated that they will release an update “that should address connection issues on PS5”. Although, they didn’t provide a time window when can we expect the update to roll out. For now, it seems the only thing we can do is wait for them to fix it.
North American PlayStation players of @EvilDeadTheGame, we're rolling out an update that should address connection issues on PS5.
