Cuphead Delicious Last Course DLC Coming in 2020, Gets Teaser Trailer
Studio MDHR, the developers of Cuphead, have released a teaser trailer for the game’s upcoming DLC, The Delicious Last Course. In the video, we get to see a few snippets of the new bosses coming in the extra content. Also, the teaser tells us that the DLC will launch in 2020, instead of in 2019. According to the developers, this is because they want to make the product the best it can be, and also to ensure a healthy work environment for their employees.
The upcoming Cuphead DLC, The Delicious Last Course, got a little teaser trailer that you can check out below. It shows off a few of the bosses that you’ll be fighting, but it also reveals that the DLC is coming in 2020, instead of 2019, as Studio MDHR initially announced. Or, as they playfully put it (via DualShockers): “…we’re taking a page out of Chef Saltbaker’s book, and spending the necessary time to get the recipe just right – this means that we’ll be moving the release of ‘The Delicious Last Course’ to 2020.”
There are two reasons for the delay. The first one is that they want to make sure that the product they put out is up to snuff: “We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of ‘Cuphead’ and is full of moments that surprise and delight players.” But, more importantly, Studio MDHR has also delayed the release for the good of their workers. As the announcement states: “Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.”
So, there you have it. Nobody likes a delay, of course. However, the reasons behind this one are more than understandable. Considering the current climate in the gaming industry, with big studios getting heat for overworking their employees, any company that avoids it deserves at least a little bit of slack. When the Delicious Last Course DLC does come out, you’ll be able to play it on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
