Call of Duty Cold War Free Alpha Weekend on PS4 Announced
Activision and Sony have apparently come to some kind of deal that allows PS4 players the earliest possible taste of Call of Duty Cold War. Starting on September 18th and ending on September 20th, you can access the game’s free Alpha. During this event, you’ll have access to three “traditional” 6v6 multiplayer modes across three maps, as well as the brand-new 12v12 Combined Arms mode. All participants will receive an exclusive Calling Card that they can display in Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Cold War.
The fall has come to the northern hemisphere, and you know what that means – it’s Call of Duty time. The full game is coming out in mid-November, and there will be betas along the way. However, PlayStation 4 owners can have a super-early peek at what the new installment, Cold War. The free alpha weekend will take place between September 18th at 10 AM PDT and September 20th at 10 AM PDT. Pre-loads are already up and running, so you can get in on the action even earlier. Just make sure to have 25 GB of free space.
So, what can you expect to see in this alpha? Well, as we’ve mentioned in the opening, there will be three 6v6 modes – Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. Standard fare. You can play these modes across three maps: Miami, Moscow, and Satellite (aka the Angolan desert). You’ll also have access to the new 12v12 Combined Arms mode. It’s basically Domination, but with more players, and Tanks, Snowmobiles, Wakerunners, and Gunboats to make things more interesting.
