Borderlands 3 PC System Requirements & Graphics Options Revealed
The new post on the Borderlands 3 website starts off by saying that no matter which platform you play the game on, it’s going to look fantastic. But we all know it’s going to look more fantastic on PC. At least on an unreasonably expensive one. Today, Gearbox revealed exactly how expensive that PC will have to be. In that same post, they’ve listed the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version of Borderlands 3.
They’re pushing AMD processors and graphics cards. Whether the game will really take advantage of proprietary technologies remains to be seen. It might just be hot air. The minimum specs are for playing at 1080p, hopefully at 60 frames per second. We don’t know, because they didn’t mention. The recommended rig will support 1440p. Here’s what you’ll need:
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7/8/10
CPU: Intel i5-3570 or AMD FX-8350
RAM: 6GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7970
HDD: 75 GB available space
RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7/8/10
CPU: Intel i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
RAM: 16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 590
HDD: 75 GB available space
The minimum machine is pretty dated, which is a pleasant surprise. Well, not that much of a surprise, really – they are releasing on consoles too, and you don’t get much more dated than that. They’ve also released a list of all the graphics settings and options available to PC players. If you wanna look at it, head on over to their site. It’s pretty standard stuff, really. Not sure why they’d boast about these. It’s like enthusiastically telling us their game will have guns in it. There is some non-standard stuff there, like the ability to scale the UI, which I honestly applaud. Nothing worse than playing a PC game on a TV and having to squint because of the tiny UI font.
