Spy Party Quest in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord
Spy party is one of the quests in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord. In it, you’ll have to figure out which of the several tournament contenders is a spy and deal with them. You’ll have to gather clues from the townsfolk and deduce who the guilty party is from them. There’s a lot of hurdles to jump over here, so if you’re stuck at any point, keep reading our Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord spy party quest guide.
How to find spy?
In order to figure out who the spy is, talk to the townsfolk. They’ll give you clues about the spy’s look – three of them in total. However, some of these clues turn out to be incorrect – whether by design or due to a bug, we don’t know. Make sure you save the game before confronting anyone, in case you get a false lead and accuse the wrong person.
Where to find contenders?
There will be three to five contenders – it’s random, like most of the stuff in this quest. The game will mark the three areas where they show up on your map. It’s usually the waterfront, backstreet and clearing. Going to these locations, you’ll quickly recognize the contenders – each of them has the word “contender” in their name. If they aren’t spawning, save the game, reload, leave the city then come back.
How to avoid dueling the contender?
As far as we know, it isn’t possible to confront the spy without killing him. The only option we’ve seen is to duel him, and it ends in death regardless of the type of weapon used. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and we’ll update the guide if we find a way. If you know something we’ve missed, feel free to let us know in the comments.
This quest really needs to be changed!
When I did the quest, two of the guys looked exactly the same.
I had to reload 4 times (2 times no contender spawned).
I hit the last shot with a kick(E), and it worked. use mace or something.
Is there specific special dialogue for when you choose the correct guy or is it always the same? It’s really quite annoying when you choose the only contender with all 3 identifying marks and still get it wrong.
