Risen Shagaru Magala MHR Sunbreak

The newest Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak update is finally out. It has added many new things to the game, including new content, systems, and, of course – new monsters. An especially fearsome new monster is none other than the Risen Shagaru Magala. To defeat this mighty Elder Dragon, you will have to be aware of its weaknesses and what types of attacks to look out for. We cover both of these in this Risen Shagaru Magala MHR Sunbreak guide.

To begin with, you are going to need to reach MR 180. Doing this will open up the Risen Shagaru Magala quest. It has two major weaknesses – to Fire, and to Poison. As such, you should bring weapons that deal this type of damage when you decide to fight it. Its weak spots are in the head, neck, and foreleg, so you should aim for those parts of its body when you are fighting Risen Shagaru Magala. Finally, Flash Bombs and Dung Bombs work against it, which is something to keep in mind.

Now that you know Risen Shagaru Magala’s weaknesses, what should you pay attention to during combat? Once this dragon has taken enough damage, it is going to enter a so-called Risen state. While in this state, the Risen Shagaru Magala is going to have much more powerful attacks. In particular, it is going to launch many moving columns that deal viral damage. The best strategy here is to be as offensive as possible, so that you can prevent it from doing this. Besides this attack, it also has a devastating beam that it emits from its head, as well as a ground slam. But both of these should be easy enough to avoid.
