MGSV: The Phantom Pain Mother Base Video
Konami have released a video explaining how Mother Base will work in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. It’s 30 minutes long and goes into much detail about the purpose, constructing, manning and improving your headquarters, as well as the benefits you’ll get for taking care of and investing in it.
There will be different add-ons to build, which supply you with the ability to use support teams, develop new weapons, and defend your base.
The game will randomly spawn items in HQ, like diamonds and posters, which you can find if you decide to take a stroll through your encampment. There will also be random events like fights between soldiers, which you could either ignore or diffuse. Seeing you walk about raises the morale of your units, unless you smell of blood and grime, in which case they’ll gag when you walk by. Thankfully, there’s a shower on board.
Finally, you’ll be able to build outposts called FOBs. These will earn you more resources, but there’s always the risk another player will infiltrate them and steal your money and people. The Mother Base is safe forever, but the FOBs need to be guarded against other players at all times.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is going to launch on September 1st, on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

You’ll need personnel, equipment and lots of money, all of which are obtained by stealing/kidnapping them from the battlefield using a balloon. So far, so MGS.
