There’s more than a few upgrades for the chopper, and you can cycle through the ones you’ve bought between missions. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to upgrade your helicopter and how to equip those upgrades.
How To Upgrade The Helicopter
When you want to buy upgrades for your chopper, you should follow these steps:
Open up your iDroid.
Go to the Mother Base tab.
Select Development from the menu.
Choose Helicopter.
Pick a research you want to invest in.
You can research new weapons, flares to distract enemy missiles, better plating, new hulls and outboard speakers.
How To Equip Helicopter Upgrades
When you want to switch parts without buying anything, there’s another procedure to follow:
Take out your iDroid.
Go to the Mother Base tab.
Select Customize from the menu.
Choose Helicopter.
Here you can choose which upgrades you want to use (of the ones you’ve developed), but also what color you want to paint your chopper in. There’s a dozen or so patterns to choose from – here’s a few:
This only works when you are in the helicopter between missions.
