Mass Effect Andromeda Screenshot Revealed, Tempest Info Incoming

A new screenshot from Mass Effect Andromeda has appeared online. It was shared on Twitter by one of the Bioware devs, in response to the comments film director James Gunn made about the series. It’s also an omen for things to come. Later today, we should expect some new info from the Andromeda Initiative, mostly about the vehicles used by the protagonist.

ME: Andromeda Tempest

First, a little background: a few days ago, Gunn was asked about his inspirations for Guardians of the Galaxy on Twitter. He mentioned Mass Effect as one of the main ones, aside from the original comic books (others were Farscape, Flash Gordon and Star Wars). This made Bioware GM Aaryn Flynn so happy that he decided to share a new screenshot from the game with his followers. It’s great to see artists interact in this way and show appreciation for each other’s work.

It’s also worth noting that another update from the Andromeda Initiative is due later today. In case you haven’t been following closely, the Initiative is an in-fiction newsletter that explores the backstory of the Ark project. This installment is going to deal with the Tempest (your spaceship) and Nomad (your spacetruck). The first two updates offered little in the way of footage. Expect to see a bit of lore, some screenshots (Tempest schematics among them), and maybe a brief, not-too-exciting video.

Mass Effect Andromeda is going to be released on March 21st. It’s coming to PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. It looks like a Nintendo Switch version won’t be happening in the foreseeable future. If you’re sure you’re going to play the game as soon as it’s out, you can already preorder it. Three editions are on sale at this moment, with different prices and different bonuses, so there’s something for everyone.
