Swamp Thing, aka Dr. Alec Holland, survived a lab explosion meant to kill him. The lab chemicals and the forces of the swamp turned him into a superpowered creature. His powers include superhuman strength and manipulating plant life in various ways. And, all of that comes into play in Injustice 2. You can check out the full gameplay video below.

You can catch a few glimpses of Swamp Thing’s character in the trailer, like when he tells Atrocitus that his anger isn’t welcome in his swamp. Ultimately, his mission is to protect “The Green” from the all-out destruction that’s happening. But, more importantly, you can see how brutal and powerful his moves are. He manipulates vegetation and his own body to his advantage, up to creating clones of himself for some devastating combos. He can also morph his body into weapons, use vines for long distance attacks, and more.

However, his most powerful special move is at the end of the video. He drags poor Damien Wayne into the ground, pounds him with giant fists made out of roots and vines, then snaps his frigging spine over a rock. He then smashes him into the ground one more time, just for good measure.

Swamp Thing is a literal force of nature, and you can see that very clearly in the trailer. His move set shows how powerful he truly is, and that he’s not to be taken lightly. He might not be as fast as some other characters, but he has various ways to punish every mistake you make.

Injustice 2 is set to come out on May 16th for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will also get its mobile version on both Android and iOS.
