Injustice 2 Sub-Zero DLC Character Coming in July
The arrival of Sub-Zero to Injustice 2 was announced. Players that own the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition, or purchase the Fighter Pack 1 separately, will be able to pick him up in July. AS you’d expect, Sub-Zero’s fighting style revolves heavily on his cryomancy, which allows him to freeze opponents, create weapons and ice clones of himself, and more.
NetherRealm have announced that Sub-Zero will be coming to Injustice 2 in July. He’s a part of the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 1 DLC, which everybody that purchases the Deluxe or Ultimate edition gets automatically. You can also purchase it separately for about $20. You’ll probably be able to buy each character separately at some point, as well. The first fighter from this pack is Red Hood, who’s already available in the game.
Sub-Zero also got a gameplay trailer, as all other characters have. If you’ve ever played Mortal Kombat, you know what to expect from this guy. He’s got the Ice Blast to freeze enemies, as well as the Ground Freeze. Many of his combos include creating various weapons out of ice, including axes, daggers and swords. He can create ice clones of himself, which freeze the opponent if they touch them. However, he can also pick the clones up and hurl them at the enemy.
His super move is about as brutal as it can get without being a full-on Fatality. To cut a long story short, Sub-Zero freezes the opponent several times, throws the enemy around like a rag doll, shoots them with a volley of ice darts, the works. Now, you may be wondering, what exactly is Sub-Zero doing in the world of Injustice 2? Well, it all ties into his backstory. Sub-Zero is now the Grandmaster of his clan, the Lin Kuei. During its history, the clan’s honor has been tarnished with corruption. As the Grandmaster, Sub-Zero is on a quest to restore his clan’s honor by protecting all realms, even the Realm of Earth. Our realm is in disarray after the events of the first Injustice, and Brainiac is coming to destroy us. Sub-Zero sees this as the ultimate chance to redeem his clan, so he joins the fray.
