Injustice 2 Scarecrow & Captain Cold Revealed in New Villain Trailer
Injustice 2 has a new trailer out, and it introduces Scarecrow and Captain Cold and shows more of Gorilla Grodd and Bane. The Injustice 2 Villain trailer is titled “It’s Good to Be Bad”. All of the featured villains have movesets based on their powers in the comic books.
“It’s Good to be Bad” is the new villain trailer for Injustice 2. It showcases four bad guys that we’ll be able to play as in the upcoming fighting game by Netherrealm Studios. Two of the characters that we’ve already seen are Gorilla Grodd and Bane. However, we also get to see two brand new villains – Scarecrow and Captain Cold. It’s safe to assume that most of you know who Scarecrow is. Captain Cold, on the other hand, kinda says it all in the name. Long story short, he’s Flash’s version of Mister Freeze.
Check out the full trailer below.
Gorilla Grodd, judging by the trailer, uses his ape strength to full extent. He can also takes advantage of his psionic powers and telekinesis for more long-distance combos.
Bane’s design in Injustice 2 reminds me a lot of Smoke from old Mortal Kombat games (understandable, considering those were also made by Netherrealm). He also takes advantage of his super strength. He seems to have some grapples and other wrestling moves, which goes great with his older, luchador look (and the fact that he once crushed Batman, literally).
Right as he shows up, Captain Cold fires off an ice pun worthy of Schwarzenegger’s Mister Freeze. As you’d expect, a lot of his moves and combos seem to revolve around his ice gun, which he uses to incapacitate his enemies.
Finally, we have Batman’s classic villain, Scarecrow. A lot of his attacks we see in the trailer involve a large sickle on a chain, kinda like a kusarigama. In one move, it looks like he drags Harley Quinn into a nightmare world where he is enormous, similar to Arkham Asylum. In the final moments of the trailer, we see him spew green fear gas into Batman’s face.
It’s great to see the Injustice 2 rogue gallery expanded by two new villains, because let’s face it, we all love ’em. Injustice 2 is coming out on May 16th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android.
