The launch of Injustice 2 is just around the corner; it’s set to come out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Tuesday, May 16th. However, Injustice 2 mobile is already out. You can download it for free for iOS and Android devices. The mobile version works almost identically to the console version, with a few exceptions. It’s a three-on-three fighter, where you control a team of your favorite DC heroes and villains.

Obviously, the gameplay is different as well. You move your character on the “fighting line” using the touchscreen, and execute various attacks, including air and crouch attacks. Injustice 2 mobile also has a story mode, a PvP arena, and an Operations mode. In Operations, you can “send characters away on missions”.

The mobile version does have cross-play options with the console, allowing you to complete timed challenges on the go. Also, you can unlock some special gear and other in-game rewards for your console Injustice 2 that you can get exclusively by playing the mobile version.

As a final note, even though the game is free, there are microtransactions. Oh boy, are there ever microtransactions. You can spend anywhere between three and a hundred dollars, if you want to. For more details on the subject, check out our article on Injustice 2 microtransactions.

The features of Injustice 2 Mobile where first revealed in more detailed in the Injustice 2 Everything You Need to Know trailer. You can check out that article (and video) for more information on the game in general.
