The gameplay trailer starts of with some banter between Poison Ivy and Bane. I can’t be sure, but this seems like a tribute to the infamous “Batman & Robin” movie. If that’s the case, I applaud the creators of the trailer for their cheek. Anyway, Ivy seems to be a fairly quick and agile fighter. Her special attacks are, of course, closely connected with her superpowers. For example, she can summon plants from the floor to juggle the opponent. She can also create a little plant-monster that spits venom. Of course, she can also use her venomous kiss to stun the enemy and start a combo.

Her ultimate special move is to apparently summon an entire jungle and entangle the opponent in vines. She then feeds them to an enormous plant monster straight from the inevitable gritty reboot of “Little Shop of Horrors”. You can check out the full Poison Ivy gameplay trailer below.

Here’s the description of Poison Ivy from the game’s website. It explains what her role is in Injustice 2 and her motives for joining The Society.

Dr. Pamela Isley was once an innovative, radical botanical biochemist with a singular goal: make the world safe for plant life to flourish. She joins the Society to further their common interest in bringing mankind to its knees, but at heart, Ivy’s desire is to ensure that in any new world order, flora dominates fauna.

Injustice 2 is hitting the stores on May 16th, 2017. It will be available for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and there’ll be a companion app for Android and iOS.
