Unlock Breeding Pen Hogwarts Legacy

Figuring out how to unlock the Breeding Pen in Hogwarts Legacy is not the most important thing in the game, but it can be useful. As the name implies, this thing lets you breed beasts you’ve already caught and placed into your Vivarium. That can be a half-decent source of income, if nothing else. Or you can just do it to fill the Vivarium further, whatever you want. With all that said, let’s dive straight in.

How to Unlock Breeding Pen in Hogwarts Legacy

To unlock the breeding pen for your Vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy, you first need to complete the “The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom” quest. This will, among other things, unlock the nab-sack, which you need in order to catch animals in general, including the Shiny Magical Beasts. If you don’t know how to make the loom, check out our Conjure an Enchanted Loom guide. Anyways, the nab-sack is also necessary to do side quests for Deek, which is exactly what you have to do next. Specifically, you need to finish the quests called “”The Plight of the House-Elf” and “Foal of the Dead.” After you wrap both of those up, go back to the Vivarium through the Room of Requirement.

The next step to unlock the Hogwarts Legacy Breeding Pen is to conjure it. It’s basically the same system as with the aforementioned loom. Cast the Conjuring spell, find the Beast Breeding Pen in the menu, select it, and place it somewhere in the Vivarium. That’s basically all there is to it, though you might need to first purchase the “recipe” from Tomes and Scrolls first. Either way, once you have a pen, all you need is to place two beasts of the same species in there, one male and one female. Interact with the book at the front to begin the “process.” After about thirty real-time minutes, you should have a new addition to the Vivarium. You can then sell it at Brood and Peck if you can stand yourself.
