Hogwarts Legacy Let Sebastian Take the Relic or Not Choice – Shadow of Time Quest

The Take Relic or Leave choice in the Shadow of Time quest in Hogwarts Legacy seems like it makes the different between you letting Sebastian take the relic or not. As it turns out, that’s not the case. No matter which of these things you say, Sebastian will take the relic. The only difference is how he perceives you in that moment, and that doesn’t seem to have any lasting consequences whatsoever. You’d think that this could be a cool moment where you direct Seb’s story, but nope. So, on the whole, you should feel free to select whichever option sounds best for you; the outcome won’t change. With that said, let’s go over what little difference there is.

So, as we’ve said, the only real difference in the Let Sebastian Take the Relic or Not choice in the Hogwarts Legacy Shadow of Time quest is how Sebastian reacts. If you select “We should leave the relic alone,” Seb will explain that it’s all for Anne’s sake and a part of a grander prophecy and whatnot. Afterwards, he’ll help himself to the relic, and the quest will continue from there. Oh, and Ominis will comment positively on you being sensible and trying to talk Sebastian out of it. On the other hand, if you choose “We need that relic,” Sebastian will take the relic and be happy as a clam that you and him are on the same wavelength. And that’s about it. No major changes in the story or even Seb’s character, nada. Crying shame, really.
