How to Get Mooncalf in Hogwarts Legacy

To get and rescue a Mooncalf in Hogwarts Legacy in the “The Elf, The Nab Sack, And The Loom” quest, the first step is to know where to find them. This part of the mission is relatively simple; just follow the quest marker to Deek. If you’re struggling with that, check out the screenshots below to see where the Mooncalf Den is. There’s even a Floo Flame nearby that you can activate. That way, whenever you need to catch more Mooncalf for resources, you can quickly come back. There are other spawn points around the map, but for our purposes, this one will do fine. It’s really close to Hogwarts, just to the west, so you won’t have to trek across the map.

Now, the catch to get and rescue a Mooncalf in Hogwarts Legacy is that they only come out at night. So, if it’s day, open the map and press the Wait button. On PlayStation, it’s R3; you can see what your button is in the bottom right corner of the map screen. Then, once night falls, the Mooncalves will spawn. As for how to catch them, you can use several spells to make the job easier. You can cast Accio to bring one of the animals closer to you and briefly stun it, or Levioso to levitate it in place. If you have a Moon Ball, you can use it as bait. Either way, keep in mind that it takes three bars of the nab-sack to finally capture a Mooncalf. Happy hunting!
