When Does Splatoon 3 Come Out, Release Date and Time

The release date and time of Splatoon 3 should be September 9th at midnight local time, even if games on the Nintendo Switch don’t usually come out that way. Most commonly, digital releases happen at the same time the world over, at 9 AM Pacific Time. However, it seems that Splatoon 3 is not going to follow this. That’s probably for the best; a rollout launch is the better solution for any game that hinges on online play. The Switch servers are wonky at the best of times; the last thing you want is to have every player try to get in at the same time. This way, with Splatoon 3 coming out slowly, the severs will hopefully hold up better.

So, that’s what we know about the Splatoon 3 release date and time at the moment. Considering that there’s still some time left before the game comes out, there might still be some changes until then. If that does happen, we’ll be sure to update the guide and keep you up to speed. Speaking of the multiplayer, Splatoon 3 allows for up to eight people to play together, either via couch co-op and interlinked consoles or through regular online lobbies. One thing that we do have to mention is that you’ll need around 6 GB of hard drive space in order to house the game files (as per the official listing), so be sure to make space ahead of time.
