Sons of the Forest Crossplay & Cross-Platform
Sons of the Forest is the long-awaited sequel to the hit survival horror game The Forest. Like in its prequel, SotF is all about survival. To do this, you are going to need to collect the materials and craft the tools you need to survive and fend off the hostile creatures that inhabit the island. SotF is leaving Early Access and getting a full release very soon, and many fans are wondering whether the game has crossplay and cross-platform features. After all, a game such as this would be perfect to play on your PS and widescreen TV in the evening after you have played it on your PC during the day. But are these features even a part of the game? That’s what we’re here to answer in our Sons of the Forest Crossplay & Cross-Platform guide.
Sons of the Forest Crossplay and Cross-Platform
Since Sons of the Forest is going to be out very soon (in fact, we have the release date and time here) on Steam, many players are wondering if the game is going to have crossplay and cross-platform options then. Since The Forest also came out on the PlayStation 4, this is a very reasonable question.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be any indication that crossplay is going to be a part of the game. As you can see, the game still hasn’t been confirmed for PS4/PS5/Xbox. Of course, there’s always the possibility that the game is going to come out on those gaming consoles at a later date. The original The Forest was released on the PS4 several months after it came out for the PC, after all. So while crossplay currently isn’t an option due to Sons of the Forest being a PC-exclusive release, this may change in the future.
