How to Play Wordle
If you are a frequent social media user, you may have noticed a recent new trend in the last couple of weeks. Many users are posting pictures of colored blocks and expressing their happiness – or frustration – about getting the right or wrong answer. The activity in question is called Wordle, and it is a word guessing game. Like all the best games, it is deceptively simple to play, while still being involved enough to be sufficiently challenging. And if you were wondering How to Play Wordle, then this guide will tell you everything you need to know about it.
What Are the Rules to Play Wordle
The rules to play Wordle are very simple. Each day, you will have the opportunity to guess a mystery 5-letter word. You will have six tries to do so. Whenever you input letters into the field, you will get one of three possible results for each letter. If the letter is green-colored, this means that it is the correct letter and in the correct position in the word. If it is yellow-colored, this means that the letter is in the word, but not in the correct position. And finally, if the letter is gray, that means that it isn’t a part of the word at all and that you can safely ignore it. Using all of that information, you then have five other tries to guess the right word.
The game was created by Reddit user Josh Wardle. He says that: “It’s something that encourages you to spend three minutes a day. And that’s it. Like, it doesn’t want any more of your time than that.” He also assures players that it is free and that it won’t misuse your personal data: “It’s not trying to do anything shady with your data or your eyeballs. It’s just a game that’s fun.”
