Palworld PvP, Is There Multiplayer?

Is there a PvP mode in Palworld? Palworld is currently the 4th most-wishlisted game on Steam ahead of its release. Add to that the fact that it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass, and we can safely assume that the launch will be massive. While the core gameplay is focused on the co-op experience for up to 32 players, some players are interested in other multiplayer modes. So, will Palworld have PvP, and if not, will it get one at a later date? Here’s everything we currently know.

Is there PvP in Palworld?

Let’s disappoint you from the get-go. No, unfortunately, Palworld will not have PvP at launch. This has been officially confirmed in the FAQ blog post the developers have released on Steam. Hence, if you were hoping to test your mettle against other players, that’s not going to happen at the early access launch. Nevertheless, there’s at least some reason for hope. Namely, in the same blog post, the developers stated that they didn’t rule out the possibility of adding PvP sometime later. In fact, they say they “are currently testing PvP internally and experimenting with different approaches”. As you can see, they are not only considering PvP. They are actively working on it.

“We want to find the right type of PvP that fits Palworld, and when it is ready, we will share news with you all,” they explain. And this stance is completely understandable. Palworld promises a complex game which blends many genres into one. There are a lot of elements in this game which need to be properly tested. Thus, the developers probably want to make sure that everything is working as intended before they start adding new features and modes. They have stated their plan is to stay in early access for at least a year. Knowing other survival crating games, that will most surely be much longer.
