Overwatch 2 April Fools 2023 Event
At the time of writing, which is Friday, March 31st, 2023, Blizzard hasn’t yet officially announced or implemented any jokes related to April Fools 2023. However, Blizzard is traditionally known to add elaborate jokes across all their games. And we expect this year to be no different. On April Fools Day 2021, all characters had Googly Eyes, no matter the skin or hero you select. However, in 2021, the joke was even more complex, with an evil universe version of the game. In this fake version of the game, there were a lot of crazy balance changes, including the unstoppable Mei DPS, D.Va dropping her mech down from the skies and crushing opponents, while Sigma was able to fly. Furthermore, there was also a bunch of other crazy balance and designs changes in the “experimental” patch notes.
Of course, none of these was real. They were never actually implemented in the game. Given that this is the very first year for the OW2 April Fools event, we expect something fun! We hope that Blizzard will put an effort into creating some elaborate jokes which include in-game changes, not only fake patch notes.
