MK1 Brutalities Not Working Fix
In our MK1 Brutalities Not Working Fix guide, we are going to explain why you might be having trouble executing these finishing moves. If we’re being honest, Brutalities have always been difficult to pull off, and Mortal Kombat 1 is no exception. You have to practice your timing and input the sequence just right, which is difficult, because the moves list doesn’t actually give you all the necessary information. So, let’s talk about how to fix this. If nothing we talk about works, you might have to contact support. Let’s begin.
How to Fix Mortal Kombat 1 Brutalities Not Working Issue
To fix the issue where Mortal Kombat 1 or MK1 Brutalities are not working properly, you first have to figure out whether it’s actually an issue with the game. As I’ve said up top, getting the timing of Brutalities down is really difficult. Because you have to perform the combination that executes the finishing move just before you fully deplete the opponent’s health, it’s super-easy to misjudge and deliver a regular hit by accident and enter the “Finish Him” part of the fight. When that happens, it’s too late for a Brutality. So, I highly recommend practicing.
Also, when you go into your character’s move list and go into the Brutalities section, be sure to select Advanced View. In there, you’ll find extra things you have to do to trigger the Brutality that the normal button input doesn’t tell you. It can be holding a button, having to be a certain distance away, etc.
Another thing you need to look at in order to fix MK1 Brutalities not working is to check whether you have the Brutality you’re trying to execute unlocked. Maybe you’ve seen a cool Brutality on YouTube or wherever, but just can’t seem to make it happen. Well, you might not have it yet. See, in Mortal Kombat 1, you unlock Brutalities as you level up with your character of choice. Again, open the moves list, go to Finishers and see which Brutalities you have available. I believe every character begins with the default Brutality, where you knock the opponent’s head off. You execute it by pressing down and Triangle / Y / whatever your top button is. Even there, you have to actually hold Triangle or Y for it to work, and the simplified view of the moves list doesn’t tell you this.
