What is Wind Charge in Minecraft?

The Wind Charge is a new weapon in Minecraft, as we’ve already said. What’s interesting about it is how it works. Not unlike the Fire Charge, it unleashes a gust of wind at enemies and knocks them back. Or, as the official announcement puts it: “Wielding the wind charge you’ll be able to launch a powerful projectile of air at your foes that’ll not only deal damage on contact, but also send nearby mobs flying!” So, that’s pretty cool in and off itself. However, the post also mentions this: “I’ve heard dexterous players will also be able to use the wind charge’s knockback to boost their jumping ability!” I’m not sure how exactly that works, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out with a little experimenting.

How to Get Wind Charge in Minecraft?

According to the post we’ve linked above, the new Wind Charge weapon cannot be crafted in Minecraft. The only source of it are the new enemies called Breezes. These only spawn in Trial Chambers, from what we can tell. You can expect to get anywhere between four and six Wind Charges to drop from a Breeze; that is, if any drop at all. I think there is a bit of an RNG element to it, so good luck and happy grinding. Not that the Wind Charge is the most necessary item to have at any time, but it is nice to be able to clear jumps more easily with the extra oomph they provide. Just be wary of fall damage when coming back down.
