How to Preload Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on PC Game Pass?

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is mere days away from launching and Activision has enabled preload of files on all platforms on October 21st. PC users can play the game on either Battle.net or through Microsoft store/Xbox app. Especially attractive option is to get and play the game via owning a PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate. This will enable you to play COD BO6 for much less on launch. I’ve chosen to get the PC Game Pass and pre-load the files using the Xbox app on my PC. After purchasing PC Game Pass it downloaded the base Call of Duty and MW3 Multiplayer without a problem. I didn’t see an option to pre-install BO6 though. It only offered me some “Black Ops 6 – Content Pack 1”. Here’s how I managed to preload Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on PC with game pass.

Black Ops 6 Preload on Xbox Game Pass

You’ll have to have Xbox app installed on your PC. Subscribe to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate via the app or on Microsoft’s website. Once your subscription is active you can look for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in the app. The standard edition of the game should offer the install option. This will install the base Call of Duty game and perhaps MW3. What you want to do next, to make sure you preload COD BO6 on PC, is to click on three dots in the top right corner of the Call of Duty screen in the Xbox app. There’s a manage option there. Once clicked you’ll see a list of things you can install. Beside MW3 multiplayer and Warzone there should be BO6: Multiplayer and BO6: Campaign. Check the checkboxes next to these and then click on Apply Changes. It should download approximately 70GB of data. This will preload Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on your PC with a game pass.

All that you’re left with is to wait for the game to launch on October 24th/25th. On consoles the process is similar. The difference being that you’ll have to buy the full game on PS5. There’s a manage option for Call of Duty base on consoles as well. You can pick and choose which content to install and BO6 preload should be among those.
