How to Get Goodie Boxes Star Ocean Second Story R

There are several ways to get Goodie Boxes in Star Ocean 2, or Star Ocean Second Story R. Boy, that’s a mouthful of a name. Anyways, you can get Goodie Boxes by just kinda playing the game, but that’s drip-feeding. You can also pickpocket certain characters, but again, not the most reliable method. Also, fishing can earn you some Goodie Boxes at times, where they appear as “Unidentified Items.” However, arguably the best system to use is the hilariously broken one described in this video by FuzzfingerGaming.

Basically, what you want to do is raise the Art skill of one character to 4. You’ll find it in the Improve section of the Camp Menu. Oh, and be sure to max out everybody’s Determination to lower future SP costs. After you get that Art up, head to a vendor and purchase as much Magic Clay as you can afford. The next step to get a goodie box (many, actually) in Star Ocean 2 or Star Ocean Second Story R. Go into the IC/Specialty part of the Camp Menu, then select Art. Lastly, pick Create Strange Goods. You can make ten at a time.

Now, before you start creating Strange Goods, you might want to save, just so you can reload if you don’t like what you get. Point is, or every batch of ten Strange Goods you craft with Magic Clay, there’s a chance you’ll get one or two Goodie Boxes in there. The results are random, so your mileage may vary. Good luck!
