Enshrouded Unable to Cook on Stone Fireplace
In our Enshrouded Unable to Cook on Stone Fireplace guide, we are going to talk about the issue where you can’t cook on the Stone Fireplace and outline some of the possible causes of the problem. And, of course, whether there’s anything you can do about it. Before that, though, we’ll explain how cooking on the Stone Fireplace is supposed to work. Let’s begin!
Enshrouded Can’t Cook on Stone Fireplace Issue
Before we talk about the issue where you’re unable to cook on the Stone Fireplace in Enshrouded, let’s explain how it’s actually supposed to work. You can craft the item as soon as you unlock the Workbench and gather the right ingredients. For the Stone Fireplace, those are two Wooden Logs and six Stones. Very simple stuff. After you craft the Stone Fireplace, you can place it anywhere, but I recommend placing it indoors to get an extra +2 Comfort. Wherever you place the Fireplace, head over next to it and hit E to start cooking. You do need to have the raw food in your hotkey menu. You can figure the process out from here, it’s all pretty basic stuff like in most other survival games.
Now, this is where the issue that renders you unable to cook on a Stone Fireplace in Enshrouded comes into play. There are a few potential causes here. One is that you didn’t have the cooking ingredient in one of your quickslots. The second possibility is that you tried using more than one ingredient. As the description of the Stone Fireplace clearly states: it’s enough for cooking one-ingredient meals. Like grilled meat, for example. Option three is that you didn’t hold the Cook button until the meat was done. You have to hold the key for the meat to stay on the Fireplace. When it darkens, it’s good to go. Leave it on for too long and it will burn, which makes it inedible.
The last possible cause is that it’s a bug. In that case, I don’t think you can do much other than wait for the developers to fix it. If there is a workaround, let us all know in the comments.
