Gran Turismo 7 Supported Wheels
What wheels you can use in Gran Turismo 7 is the first thing you should check if you are planning on purchasing a new steering wheel to play GT7. The latest Gran Turismo game offers an unparalleled racing experience. Its enhanced gameplay features are making driving feel more real than ever before which will allow proficient players to showcase their skills. And while the DualSense 5 controller does a great job in GT7 with its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, it’s still far from the ideal racing controller. Seasoned Gran Turismo players know that nothing can beat playing GT7 with a steering wheel. Check out the full list of supported steering wheels in Gran Turismo 7.
Gran Turismo 7 Wheel Compatibility
As you know, Gran Turismo 7 is a PlayStation exclusive game, available only on the PS5 and PS4. As such, the range of compatible steering wheels for GT7 is rather small. Especially compared to sim racing games on the PC, where you can choose from hundreds of models. For a steering wheel to be officially supported, a wheel manufacturing brand needs to get a licence from Sony. This includes passing rigorous testing and making sure that a product aligns with PlayStation standards. On the one hand, this ensures that the wheels you can use with GT7 are of the highest quality. But on the other hand, it limits what wheels you can use in Gran Turismo 7. The following steering wheels are supported in Gran Turismo 7:
- Thrustmaster T-GT
- Thrustmaster T248 (in T-GT compatibility mode)
- Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel
- Fanatec GT DD Pro
- Thrustmaster T500RS (PS4 only, at least for now)
- Thrustmaster T150 Force Feedback
- Logitech G29 Driving Force
- Logitech G923 Racing Wheel
- Fanatec Podium series
- Thrustmaster T300RS
- Thrustmaster T500RS (PS4 only)
- Hori Racing Wheel Apex (non-FFB wheel)
These wheels are completely supported in Gran Turismo 7. They will work from the get-go, plug-and-play style. The game will recognize their button layouts and you will be able to configure controls. When it comes to steering wheels that are not officially supported for GT7, they might work as well. Not being supported might just mean that you will need to do some extra tweaking or some buttons won’t be recognized. Still, if you are buying a steering wheel for the PS5 or PS4, pick one from the list above to be safe.
